How to Create Your Website
Blueprint
You need to create a website
blueprint right after you choose the niche to aim for. Even before
you purchase hosting or a domain name, you need to plan your website
thoroughly. You need a strategy to develop it, and you will want to
proceed in a way that will end up with a killer site.
You should build your site
with ease of navigation in mind. That means both humans and robots
should be able to travel through your pages easily. You site should
be built first for your browsers or customers, with the search engine
robots kept in mind at all times.
Develop the layout
of your site in such a way to not only provide a logical path for your
surfers, but also to give the search engines their content in such
a way that each and every page will have keyword focus.
A three tier layout is recommended
by many internet marketers. Start with your homepage at the top of
the pyramid. Then, put navigation in your home page to six to ten second
tier pages, at least to start with. Each second tier page will have
the same navigation as the home page, pointing to the home page and
other second tier pages, along with links to 6-7 pages that are dedicated
to sub-topics of the second tier page.
This is where your keyword
research earlier pays off. See the page "Choose
a Topic or Niche". Each of the pages in your site should have
a topic that focuses on a specific keyword or keyword phrase. That
way, each page in your site will have it's own value in the search
engines, and you can bring in visitors through lots of doorways.
Internal links count with
the search engines too, so anytime you can naturally link one of your
pages to another, do it. When you have finished making your blueprint,
it is time to select a web host.
